First: the rice ratio; it is 2 to 1, water to rice. This means that you add two cups of water for every one cup of uncooked rice to yield about 4 - 5 good servings. For more rice just double the ratio.
For six people I recommend 1½ cups of rice and 3 cups of water.
To cook rice use these general directions:
Add rice and water and bring to a boil, stir to insure the rice isn’t sticking and turn your heat down, cover the pot and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
